1940s to 1950s vintage pleated pants like this are so hard to find! Set-in waistband, double pleated front, cuffed stovepipe legs. Slightly angled inset hand warmer pockets near the side seams, and a pair of inset bound pockets in back, one that buttons closed. The pants have buttons at the waist to attach vintage suspenders.
SIZE: No size label. These were taken in at the waist by a tailor at some point - if you let them back out, you could add up to 1.5" in the waist and still have 1" seam allowances.

FABRIC/COLORS: Medium weight wool, in a heathered weave that is mostly black plus a little dark gray or brown, very subtle and versatile. Waistband, inner placket and inner pockets are unbleached polished cotton.
TAGS: No tags
CLOSURES: A large flat hook and bar at the waist, plus an tabbed button for security. The heavy brass zipper is Gripper brand.
CONDITION: On very close inspection, I found an old re-weaving repair near the right knee, masterfully done - see closeups. The cotton facing has many areas of discoloration, doesn't affect wearability. No other issues noted.
